This Sunday, September 11, marks the beginning of the Narrative Lectionary for this year. As has been noted elsewhere, there is a set of Bible readings for each week to get the overall context and understanding of what is going on. In the past some have participated in these readings, but many did not.
This Sunday, I will start a new Sunday School class focused on these weekly readings. It will be an informal review of what we have read over in the last week, and a chance to put things together, ask questions, and get a better understanding of what these specific chapters and stories, and how they fit in the overall scope of God’s Word.
This class will take the place of the ‘Current Events’ class that I have been teaching for a while. The class has been very small for a while as I think we are all a little burnt out on looking at the political landscape of America, and the troubles of the world around us.
If you would like to deepen your understanding of the amazing story that God tells us through His Word, please join us in this new class.
